Happy World Storytelling Day!

World Storytelling Day celebrates the art of oral storytelling on the Spring equinox (usually March 20). On this day people tell and listen to stories in many languages and places sharing their inspiration. World Storytelling Day began in Sweden in 1991 and was called “Alla berättares dag” (All storytellers day). This year’s theme is Wise Fools… seems appropriate.

Wise Fool – a theme in literature that plays on the oxymoron in which a fool expresses wisdom.

Screen Shot 2018-03-19 at 12.11.04 PMWe’re pleased to welcome back our five friends who assisted The Scrappy Duo in providing literacy education during episodes of Tea @ Sea last season. O. Roara is returning as our roving reporter for #kidsinthearts, and Dr. T will continue giving book recommendations. The ever busy Whooolia Child has already appeared in Season 2 providing our Letter of the Week, Disco Dolphin is taking on a new assignment ensuring The Scrappy Duo keep their promises to remain 100% Eco-Friendly, and Lou Seal will be back leading The Scrappy Duo Band. Though according to our story, she’ll be helping out O. Roara by traveling to Minot, North Dakota. More about that next week!
